  • Page 4 CAPTURING 1. Connect the S-Video cable and RCA audio cables from the VCR’s Line output to the input on the DAC-100. 2. Connect the FireWire cable to the DAC-100, connect the opposite end to the PC or Mac’s FireWire Port.

  • Page 7 A. Explanation of the DAC-100 Dip Switches The DAC-100 has dip switches to customize the converter for your hardware and software. The DAC-100 is sold throughout the world, so dip switch settings can be changed to accommodate different regions and different firewire devices.
  • Page 8 B. Configuration of the Dip Switches In this section, we will select the appropriate settings for your particular operating system and 1394/firewire card. Please choose a recommended dip switch setting from below, according to your Computer’s Operating System.
  • Page 9 C. Diagrams of typical cable connections Make sure your VCR or Analog source is connected to the front inputs of the DAC-100 (LED’s are on the front of the DAC-100). A 6-pin FireWire cable can be connected to the front or rear of the DAC-100. The opposite end should be connected to your 1394/connector on your computer.

  • Page 11 Capturing video with Windows Movie Maker Once the DAC-100 has been setup and turned on, you can open Windows Movie Maker as shown in Figure 3.
  • Page 12 Windows Movie Maker will open and it will look like the example in Figure 4. To start capturing video from your DAC-100, go to File and select the Record tool. The Record tool will allow you to capture video from your DAC-100.
  • Page 13 Once all of your settings have been configured, you can start capturing. Press the “source button” on the top of the DAC-100 until the LED shows “AV” as the input source. Press, “play” on your analog device. You should see video in your record window as shown below in Figure 6:...
