9-8. Piston Pin Bearing

9-8-1. Removing
The piston pin bearing is installed on the con

removed by hand.
9-8-2. Inspecting
To check the piston pin bearing for wear, fit
the bearing into the small end of a new con
rod, insert a new piston pin into the bearing
and move the piston pin up and down.
place the piston pin bearing with a new one if
the play is over 0. 045 mm (0.0 0177 in).

Piston-cylinder clearance:
The
standard
piston-cylinder
0.070-0.080mm (0.00286-0.00315in)
The clearance is determined by subtracting
piston diameter from c ylinder diameter. The
cylinder measurement should be taken at 9
mm (0.35 in) above the exhaust por t, and the
piston measurement at 23 mm (0.90 in) above
the piston skirt 90° from the piston pin holes .
Use a cylinder gauge to measure the cylinder
bore and an outside micrometer to measure
the piston diameter .
