Assembly
1. Park the mower on a solid, level surface; set the park
brakes; and shut-off the engine.
2. Begin with the computer on and located near the
mower. Locate the two cables included in this kit.
3. Connect the converter cable to a USB port on the
computer.
4. Connect the converter cable to the ECU cable.
5. Connect the ECU cable to the wire harness on the
engine near the ECU. Figure 5-7.
6. Start the APECS 4800 Service Tool program on the
computer.
7. Turn the mower key to the "RUN" position, but do not
start the engine.
NOTE: You can access the ECU to receive live data from
the sensors while the engine is running, but it is not nec-
essary to start the engine to access any stored codes or
sensor faults.
8. Click "Connect" at the top of the APECS tool and
confirm the selection of the USB cable, not the TCP/IP.
Click "Connect" at the bottom of the window.

9. Confirm Level 1, and Log in. Figure 5-9.
10. You should now be connected to the ECU. This screen
shows some detailed information. Figure 5-10.
11. Click on the pull-down menu and scroll to Diagnostics

12. Contained in the Diagnostics 1/2/3/4 is a button to
use for clearing faults. Pressing this button will clear
the faults in the memory so that you can recheck to
see if the fault reappears after the repair has been
made. Figure 5-12,
