INTRODUCTION Programme Uses WM Doctor has been introduced to enable Merloni Engineers to run a diagnostic test from their Emit terminal. It can also be used via normal PCs or laptop computers fitted with appropriate software and connecting leads. The programme can be used to establish the current File Version loaded, check the loaded Eeprom and power board is ok, and test components of the appliance.

REQUIREMENTS / EQUIPMENT cont. LOW END ADAPTOR Some models have a combined Power and Display board mounted behind the console panel. These products require an adaptor to connect the Emit to the appliance. The adaptor is shown below Part Number C00116135. Information on the use of this adapter can be found in leaflet 8200787.
CONNECTION Connect the Hardware Key to the Emit via the USB cable and switch on the appliance. Connect the Hardware Key to the appliance. A Green Led illuminates on the key. STARTING THE SOFTWARE When you have the software loaded onto your Emit, using the dropdown task bar select Washing Machine Doctor icon. This will launch the multi-button box shown. Next select the ‘WM Doctor Evo 2’ button to launch the main screen.

MAIN SCREEN APPLIANCE DETAILS This area displays appliance details, option buttons, knobs and features. If the information displays correctly it indicates the Eeprom and power board are ok. If it is incorrect then the Eeprom or power board will need to be replaced before tests can be carried out.
USING THE SOFTWARE – SINGLE TEST After you have a connection and establish the Eeprom and power board are correct in ‘Hardware Configuration’ section, there are two ways to test components, Single (as shown above) or Automatic (shown on page 19) In this case, select the item from the dropdown list.

USING THE SOFTWARE – AUTOMATIC TEST To test all the components shown, simply select ‘Automatic’ and the programme will progress through components 1 to 21 as applicable to the appliance. Leave all the boxes with ticks checked.

USING THE SOFTWARE – AUTOMATIC TEST An unsuccessful test result will display as shown. In this example, the pressure switch is stuck full. ‘FAIL NO CRITER’ indicates component ‘NOT TESTED’. As the valves and the pump rely on the pressure switch they will not test. The help file can also be accessed for the Automatic test (See page 18).

TEMPERATURE DURING TEST During the Solenoid Valve tests a pop up window appears showing the temperature of the water during the test.

USING THE SOFTWARE – BOTH TESTS If you select ‘Stop’ the test will cease. If you press ’OK’ the test will bypass the current component and show it as failed. The ‘Ko’ button is not used.

EXAMPLE TEST Blocked pressure chamber or pressure switch stuck open - Automatic Test was selected however, the component would also fail a Single test. This shows the valves or filling circuit failure and the pump not tested. Note: There is not a specific pressure switch test.

EXTRA TEST This window pops up showing the speed set on the appliance. Press ‘Start’ with the drum empty and the speed achieved is shown.
ERRORS If during the programme the software freezes or the appliance does not respond the following action should be taken. Switch off appliance, wait 30 seconds and re-start the process. In certain situations the EMIT unit can freeze. To rectify, restart the EMIT, reconnect and check settings.
