Inserting a Hard Drive into the Hard Drive Bay
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the computer and hard drive, and
loss of information, turn off the computer before inserting the hard
drive into the hard drive bay. Do not insert the hard drive while the
computer is turned on, in Suspend, or in Hibernation.
Electrostatic discharge can damage electronic components. Before
touching the hard drive, ensure that you are discharged of static
electricity by touching a grounded metal object.
1 Turn off the computer.
2 Place the hard drive into the hard drive carrier. Be sure the tab
is tucked under the hard drive.
3 Insert the hard drive, with the label facing up, into the hard
drive bay until you hear a click.
