NO This message appears if you try to
FILES! recall or delete a text file from the
memory when none are stored.
NO This message appears if you try to print
TAPE! a label or feed the tape when no tape
cassette is installed.
REPLACE This message appears if the installed
BATTERIES! alkaline batteries are about to run
out.
ROM This message appears if there is a
PROBLEM! problem with the machine's read
only memory.
SET 1" This message appears if a 1" (24-mm)
TAPE! wide tape cassette is not installed when
an auto format layout for a 1" (24-mm)
SET 24mm
wide tape is selected.

Cause Remedy
Store a text file first.
Install a tape cassette and try
again.
Replace the batteries or use the
AC adapter.
Turn off the machine, and then
while holding down c and
R, turn the machine back on.
Contact your service representa-
tive.
Install a 1" (24-mm) wide tape
cassette.
Install an 3/4" (18-mm) wide tape
cassette.
Install a 1/2" (12-mm) wide tape
cassette.
Install a 3/8" (9-mm) wide tape
cassette.
Install a 1/4" (6-mm) wide tape
cassette.
