Overall Block Diagram
Figure 4-2 shows the overall block diagram of the 4338B.
The signal source section applies measurement signal to the range resistor and DUT in
series. The current sense amplier measures the voltage across the range resistor, which is
proportional to the current
owing through the DUT. The voltage sense amplier measures the
voltage across the DUT. The process amplier switches these two voltages to be converted into
digital data. The CPU calculates DUT resistance, derived from impedance, from the vector ratio
of these two voltages, and displays the result on the LCD.
