    Safety and Legal Choosing a location Put your machine on a flat, stable surface that is free of vibration and shocks, such as a desk. Put the machine near a standard, grounded electrical socket. Choose a location where the temperature remains between 10°C and 35°C. WARNING DO NOT put the machine near heaters, air conditioners, refrigerators, medical equipment, chemicals or water.

    Printer jam or paper jam Take out the jammed paper depending on where it is jammed in the machine. Pull the paper tray (1) out of the machine. Pull out the jammed paper (1) and press Stop/Exit. Reset the machine by lifting the scanner cover from the front of the machine and then close it.
  • Page 77 Using both hands, use the plastic tabs on both sides of the machine to lift the scanner cover (1) until it locks securely in the open position. Make sure that there is no jammed paper left inside the machine. Check both ends of the print carriage.

    Open the ink cartridge cover. If one or more ink cartridges have reached the end of their life, the LCD shows B&W Print Only or Cannot Print. Press the lock release lever as shown to release the cartridge indicated on the LCD.
