Procedure for tensioning the timing belt
TENSIONING PROCEDURE
Engine cold (ambient temperature)
Check that the tensioner is securely positioned on the
pin (1).

Check that pin Mot. 1054 is in place.

Tool for pretensioning a belt
The crankshaft groove (4) should be located at the
centre of the two ribs (2) on the crankshaft closure
cover, mark (3) on the crankshaft timing sprocket
should be offset one tooth to the left of the vertical axis
of the engine.
