Selection
Two riding modes are available to
allow you to set the motorcycle's
suspension to the condition of
the road surface:
ROAD: highway operation
ENDURO: off-road riding
Specially adapted settings for the
ABS and ASC are provided for
each of the two riding modes.
ABS and/or ASC can be
switched off in each mode; the
following explanations always
z
refer to the activated systems.
ABS
The rear wheel lift assistant is
active in both modes.
In the ROAD mode, the ABS
response characteristics are
calibrated for highway opera-
tion.
In the ENDURO mode ABS is
calibrated for off-road operation

using knobby off-road tires.
ASC
The front wheel lift assistant is
active in both modes.
In the ROAD mode, the ASC
response characteristics are
calibrated for highway opera-
tion.
In the ENDURO mode, ASC is
calibrated for off-road opera-
tion.
Changing the setting
The process of changing the
ABS and ASC riding modes
while the motorcycle is underway
is only possible under certain
conditions:
No drive torque at rear wheel,
No brake pressure in the brake
system.
This operating mode is active
when the motorcycle is stopped
with the ignition switched ON. As
an alternative, the following steps
must be carried out:
Turn back throttle grip.
Do not actuate brake lever.
Actuate clutch.
First the desired riding mode is
preselected. The new selection
is not activated until the specified
conditions are present in all af-
fected systems.

The maximum braking force that
can be transferred to the road
