3-13. Check (Self-diagnosis)
The mechanical deck sensor adjustment, mechanical parts assembly check, and so forth are performed
using the self-diagnosis function of this unit.
1. Start the utility software. (Refer to Section 1-6.)
2. Click the [Preparation] button of the Check tab.
"Before Checking ...Eject the paper, Close the door. Insert USB Flash Drive. (UP-X898MD only)" is
displayed in the large edit box on the right side.
3. Eject the paper from the tray and close the door.
In the case of UP-X898MD, insert the USB flash memory into the USB terminal on the front.

. If the check is performed with the paper loaded, "PAPER TRAY SENSOR" or "PAPER FRONT
SENSOR" cannot be checked, resulting in an error.
. In the case of UP-X898MD, if the check is performed without connecting the USB flash memory,
"USB HOST" cannot be checked, resulting in an error.
4. Click the [SENSOR|MOTOR|USB|HOST] button.
The self check of EEPROM, sensors, motor and thermistor in this unit is performed.
After the check is completed, the result is displayed in the edit box on the right side.
. If there is no defective portion: "No Error, Check OK!" is displayed.
. If any defective portion is detected: Defective portion is displayed.
