2-2. Replacement of Boards

2-2-1. DEC-158 Board

The serial number of the unit is saved in the DEC-158

board.

Be sure to write the serial number after replacing the DEC-
158 board. (Refer to Section 1-12.)
Removal
1. Remove the upper chassis. (Refer to Section 2-1-1.)
2. Remove the screw and the six screws (four screws A
and two screws B) for connectors, and then remove
the rear panel.

3. Remove the four screws, and remove the nylon clip.
4. Lift the DEC-158 board, and disconnect the harness
from the connectors (CN102, CN801, and CN802) on
the DEC-158 board.

5. Remove the DEC-158 board from the connector CN1
on the flexible card board.

Installation
6. Reinstall the DEC-158 board in the reverse order of
steps 2 to 5.

. Make sure to connect the connector CN101 on the
DEC-158 board to the connector CN1 on the flexible
card board.
. Screws for connector A and B are two different
types. Be aware of the types when attaching the rear
panel.
7. Reattach the upper chassis. (Refer to Section 2-1-1.)
