MODEL FS-MSM
Addressable Manual Station
The SIEMENS FS-MSM Addressable Manual Station
is an addressable device containing advanced control
panel communication technology. This technology
which provides bidirectional communication with the
control panel, produces an Intelligent Initiating
Device. The FS-MSM is a single action station; when
used with the MS-FD Adapter, it is a double action
station. The FS-MSM Addressable Manual Station is
compatible with the FS-100 Fire Alarm Control Unit.
When an alarm condition occurs, pull down on the
PULL DOWN lever of the manual station. The pull-
down cover remains down and locked until the station
is reset. The FS-MSM with the MS-FD Adapter has
an additional lever labeled LIFT - PULL HANDLE
which must be lifted up before access is provided to
the station PULL DOWN lever.

Step 1.) Installation is to be done by qualified personnel who
have thoroughly read and understood this instruction
sheet.
Step 2.) Disconnect all power into system, including batteries.
Step 3.) Mount box, attach conduit and run wires as required.

CAUTION:
1. To prevent damage to the FS-FPI, do not connect
modules to the FS-FPI until the Addressable Device
Circuit wiring is disconnected.
2. Only one device must be connected to the FS-FPI at a
time.
Step 4.) Plug the programming cable of the FS-FPI Programmer/
Tester into the two-pin receptacle on the module.
Step 5.) Set the address for the module by following the
instructions in the FS-FPI Programmer/Tester Manual
(P/N 315-699480).
Step 6.) Record the device address on the nameplate located
on the inside of the manual station mounting plate.
Step 7.) Connect wires to the fire alarm system control unit as
directed in Figure 1.
Step 8.) Mount the FS-MSM (Refer to Figures 2 and 3).
CAUTION:
Do not overtighten the screws. Overtightening may
distort the backplate.
Step 9.) Apply power to system.
Step 10.) Check for proper operation of functions.
TO RESET STATION
1.
Turn lock barrel 1/4 turn counter-clockwise with the allen key
provided. This will allow the front to hinge down, releasing
PULL-DOWN plate to disengage from the switch.
2.
Return the front to its closed position, then turn the lock
barrel back clockwise.
NOTES:
1.
Units to be installed in accordance with all local electrical
codes.
2.
Terminal block will accept a maximum of #14 AWG
wiring.
3.
Place manual stations according to the regulations of the
authorities having jurisdiction.
4.
Requires unshielded, twisted pair, low capacitance cable.
Refer to the wire selection guide in the FS-100 Manual,
P/N 315-699461, for full details.
