T he appliance has a safety sensor in the boiler
(as well as the level sensor) to cut off the power
supply to the heating element if there is no
water in the boiler.

C alcium and magnesium determine the hardness of the water and cause the formation of what
we simply call scale.
Water is hard from 30° to 40° ; it is considered very hard from 40° upwards. T he hardness can
be measured by simple test kits, which may be purchased at any service centre.
T here is a small resin water softener (plus one in the accessories kit) inside the water tank,
which should be replaced or regenerated once every 20-30 litres of water that are used.
T he small water softener can be regenerated by putting it in salt water (one spoonful of NaC l,
sodium chloride) for approx. 48 hours.
T horoughly rinse with clean water and put the small water softener connected to the silicone
tube back inside the tank.
T he supplied ACCESSORI ES are packed in a box: 2 filter holders, 1-
cup filter, 2-cup filter, blind filter, 1-cup and 2-cup coffee dispensing
spouts, pressing tool, cleaning brush, steel measuring spoon, filter-retai-
ning spring, mini resin water softener, packet of detergent for cleaning
the appliance interior.
