the locations of the ducting, electrical, and mounting holes or mark the
locations by measurement.
2.
Cut appropriate holes for ducting connection and electrical connection in
the wall/cabinet.
3.
Install an approved wire connector to the electrical knockout of the hood
and guide the electrical cable through the hood, allowing at least 6" of
wire for connections and tighten.
NOTE: If installing into existing construction and you will not have access to
the ductwork once the hood is in place, make ducting connections at this point.
Refer to the Ducting Section for instructions.
4.
Install the 5 mounting screw at the previously marked locations. Leave
approximately 1/8" clearance. Slide the hood in place through the keyhole
slots and push back into position. Tighten all screws securely (Figure 7).

Wiring
CAUTION:
ALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS MUST BE MADE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL CODES, ORDINANCES, OR NATIONAL ELECTRICAL
CODE. IF YOU ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH METHODS OF INSTALLING ELECTRICAL
WIRING, SECURE THE SERVICES OF A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
1.
Connect the loose White wire from the range hood to the White wire from
the supply, and the loose Black wire from the range hood to the Black wire
of the supply. Connect the ground wire (green or bare) from the supply to
the green ground screw of the hood. Use approved methods for all
connections (Figure 8).

NOTE: DO NOT disconnect any wiring that has already been crimped with a
wire connector from the factory.
Ducting
CAUTION:
ALL DUCTING MUST COMPLY WITH LOCAL AND NATIONAL
BUILDING CODES.
WARNING:
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, USE ONLY METAL DUCTWORK.
1.
Connect the ducting to the hood's damper frame and damper. Secure in
place using tape to seal all joints. Also tape around where the damper
frame is connected to the hood body (Figure 9).

CAUTION:
ALWAYS DUCT THE FAN TO THE OUTSIDE THROUGH A
WALL OR ROOF CAP.
Finishing the Installation
1.
Reinstall the hood's bottom cover by sliding into place at a 45° angle,
making sure the cover fits over the two rivets at the inside back of the
hood (the rivets will be visible after the cover is installed). Line up the six
holes and secure the bottom cover in place using the six screws that were
removed earlier. Tighten all screws securely. (Figure 10)

Install two 100 watt maximum type A19 bulbs and reinstall the light lenses.
They will snap into place.
3.
Remove any protective plastic that might be present on the filters and
reinstall by sliding the filters to the back of the hood and applying upwards
pressure to snap them in place.
4.
Restore power and test that the lights and the fan are operating properly.
5.
If there is any vibration noise, check for the source and try to tighten fasteners
or adjust the tape on the duct to make a tighter connection or seal.

Operation

Electronic Controls (Figure 11)
a.
Fan Speed Control - Press the button corresponding to the desired fan speed
setting. An indicating light will show the speed selected. To turn off the fan,
depress the activated speed.
b.
Lighting Control - Press the button corresponding to the desired light level
setting. To turn off the light, depress the selected button.
c.
Auto Off Function - Press the clock symbol to activate the auto off function
for the fan. This will allow the fan to run at the selected speed for 10 minutes
and then shut off automatically. An indicating light shows this function has
been activated. To cancel depress the clock symbol again. This function
shuts off the fan function only, it does not effect the lighting function.
d.
Check Filter Function - After approximately 70 hours of operation, the check
filter indicator light will turn on. This indicates that the filters should be
checked and cleaned if necessary. At the same time, check and clean the
blower wheel and venturi ring if necessary (see cleaning instructions).
