    Introduction Thank you for purchasing a Guardian Fall Protection SkyMast. This manual must be User Information read and understood in its entirety, and used as part of an employee training program as required by OSHA or any Date of First Use: applicable state agency.

    Product Specific Applications Use of equipment in unintended applications may result in serious WARNING injury or death. Maximum 1 attachment per connection point. Personal Fall Arrest: SkyMast may be used to support a MAXIMUM 3 PFAS for use in Fall Arrest applications.
  • Page 4 Compatibility: When making connections with SkyMast, eliminate all possibility of roll-out. Roll-out occurs when interference between a hook and the attachment point causes the hook gate to unintentionally open and release. All connections must be selected and deemed compatible with SkyMast by a Competent Person. All connector gates must be self-closing and self-locking, and withstand minimum loads of 3,600 lbs.

    SkyMast Skyhook Anchors MUST be placed a MINIMUM 10’ from all leading edges of fall hazards. 1. Place SkyMast Skyhook Anchor over selected roof ridge. Anchor must lie flush with substrate. 2. Ensure all fasteners are those supplied by Guardian Fall Protection, or are deemed compatible by a Competent Person.
  • Page 7 • Wood/Metal installation: Install SkyMast Skyhook with (18) #14-10 2” screws (9 per side), as shown. All fasteners MUST be installed through roof sheathing and into roof truss or other compatible support beam. • Concrete installation: Must be done directly on substrate, and never through any intermediary substrates. Use same fastener configuration as wood/metal install.
  • Page 8 2. Place SkyMast Center Post over SkyMast Skyhook Anchor Connection Point. Secure Center Post to SkyMast Skyhook Anchor with supplied and attached Dowel Pin.   • Page 9 4. Install Cleats to roof with (24) #14-10 2” screws (12 per side), as shown. Fasteners MUST be installed through roof sheathing and be fully embedded into roof truss or compatible support beam. Install fasteners slightly off-center from each other to avoid splitting truss. Cleats MUST lie flush with substrate. If installing onto concrete, fasteners must be selected and deemed compatible by a Competent Person.

    Maintenance, Cleaning, and Storage If SkyMast fails inspection in any way, immediately remove it from service, and contact Guardian to inquire about its return or repair. Cleaning after use is important for maintaining the safety and longevity of SkyMast. Remove all dirt, corrosives, and contaminants from SkyMast before and after each use.
