Prerequisites
If you are a Windows user, you must have Adobe Acrobat
Reader installed to view this Getting Started Guide as well
as the PDF-formatted CLI Users Guide included on this CD.
If you are a Macintosh or Unix-based user, refer to the CLI
Users Guide for instructions on using the CLI, the "Quick
Setup", and "QuickVC" programs to complete your
installation.
To Install the OfficeConnect Remote 812 Software
After placing the Install CD in your CD-ROM drive:
1 Select the first button, "Install Documentation, Utilities,
and Configure the OfficeConnect Remote 812" to install
the router and documentation. This includes the
Configuration Wizard.
2 Follow the remaining instructions on the screen and follow
along with the 3Com OfficeConnect Remote 812 ADSL
Router Installation Guide.
3 If you want to install just the documentation and utilities,
select the button, "Install Documentation and Utilities
Only".
4 If you are an existing customer, select the button, "Install
3Com Instant Update".
5 If you need to view pdf files, select the button, "Install
Adobe Acrobat 4.05".
6 If you want to view the Getting Started and Installation
guide, select the button, "View Install Guide".
NOTE: Adobe Acrobat version 4.0.5 must be loaded first.
7 If you want to browse the CD for particular files, select the
button, "Browse CD".
8 Lastly, select Exit if you want to stop viewing the CD
installation screen.
Installing Microsoft Internet Explorer
You should have Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02 or
Netscape Navigator 3.0 at the minimum. If not, install
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 included on this CD to use
