SPARK ARRESTER CLEANING
(Optional part)
The muffler becomes very hot during operation and
remains hot for a while after stopping the engine.
Touching a hot muffler will severely burn you.
Allow the muffler to cool before proceeding.
Remove the muffler protector
Remove the tapping screws (4 x 8 mm) from the spark
arrester and remove the spark arrester from the muffler.
Check for carbon deposits around the exhaust port and
spark arrester. Clean if necessary, with a wire brush [1].
Replace the spark arrester if there are any breaks or
tears.
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

IDLE SPEED CHECK/ADJUSTMENT

Ensure the governor arm and governor arm shaft are
installed correctly
Remove the impeller.
Running the engine with the impeller installed will
damage the pump.
Install the casing with the impeller removed to protect
the rotating area.
Use a tachometer with graduations of 50 min-1 (rpm) or
smaller that will accurately indicate 50 min-1 (rpm)
change.
Start the engine and allow it to warm up to normal
operating temperature.
Turn the throttle stop screw [1] to obtain the specified
idle speed.
IDLE SPEED: 2,500
Remove the casing.
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
