Cause
Incorrect needle system.
The needle is bent or blunt.
Needle substandard.
The needle is incorrectly inserted.
Incorrect needle point.
Quilt sandwich pulled too tight.
Quilt sandwich with adhesive
fleece.
Needle/thread ratio incorrect.
Upper thread is too tight.
Not threaded properly.
Substandard or old thread.
Stitch hole or hook tip damaged.
Bobbin thread tension too high.
The stitch hole in the stitch plate
is damaged.
Needle blunt or bent.
Bobbin thread caught.
Needle not properly secured.
Substandard thread with knots.
Incorrect calibrating data.
The eco mode is active.
Screen not responding.
Remedy
> Use the 130/705H needle system.
> Use a new BERNINA quality needle.
> Use a new BERNINA quality needle.
> Push the needle all the way to the top when inserting.
> Match the needle point to the texture of the material.
> Do not pull the quilt sandwich too tight.
> Use silicone lubrication.
> Match the needle with the thread size.
> Reduce the upper thread tension.
> Check the bobbin thread tension with the Bobbin thread
tension gauge.
> Check the upper thread.
> Use quality thread.
> Get in contact with the specialist BERNINA dealer.
> Increase the upper thread tension, or adjust the bobbin
thread tension with the bobbin thread tension gauge.
> Get in contact with the specialist BERNINA dealer.
> Use a new needle.
> Check the bobbin thread.
> Tighten the screw of the needle holder.
> Use quality thread.
> Recalibrate the screen (see page 61)
> Deactivate eco mode.
> Switch the machine off.
> Keep your finger on the screen.
> Switch on the machine while your finger is on the
screen.
