7.3 Quilting frame

Checking and cleaning the frame

Over time the frame may settle and the structure should be checked periodically for proper leveling.
> Using a spirit level, make sure the frame is level front to back and left to right.
> Move the machine to different positions on the frame and let go. The mashine should stay in place.
If the mashine is moving, level the frame accordingly. (refer to the Frame installation manual
> Make sure that the counter nuts on all legs are firmly tightened.
> The middle legs must touch the floor. Make sure they are slightly overextended to minimize vibration of
the machine and frame.
> Check that the load-bearing screws are properly tightened.
> Check the tracks. Wipe off deposits and sticky residues that have accumulated with a cloth and soap
solution, and rub dry.
> Wipe all four black rails with a cloth and soap solution, and rub dry.

Checking and cleaning the carriage

> Check al 16 wheels of the carriage:
• Are there accummulated threads?
• Do wheels move freely?
• Are there sticky residues on the running track?
> Wipe the running surface of all wheels with a cloth and soap solution, and rub dry.
> Check black rails for deposits and sticky residue.
> Wipe black rails with a cloth and soap solution, and rub dry.
> Check that all wheels make contact with the black rails, and that the carriace can be moved over the
entire lenth and width of the frame.
If necessary, adjust the position of the wheels. (refer to frame assembly manual)
