3.2 Adapting remote control keys to remote
control (vehicles without entry and start
authorisation system)
Keys must be adapted to the remote control with the vehicle di‐
agnosis, testing and information system - VAS 5051B- .
– Select "Guided Fault Finding" on vehicle diagnosis, testing
and information system - VAS 5051B- .
– Using the key, select "Function/component selection"
GoTo
and the following menu items one after the other:
♦ Body
♦ General body repairs (Rep. Gr. 01; 50...77)
♦ 01 - Self-diagnosis compatible systems
♦ 46 - Convenience system
♦ 46 - Functions - Central control unit for convenience system
♦ J393 - adapt key with remote control

bilizer (vehicles with or without entry and
start authorisation system)
Keys must be adapted to the immobiliser with the vehicle diag‐
nosis, testing and information system - VAS 5051B- .
– Select "Guided Fault Finding" on vehicle diagnosis, testing
and information system - VAS 5051B- .
– Using the key, select "Function/component selection"
