Official Notification of Federal Boat Safety Act Recall
Dear Custom er,
Thank you for the purchase of your M ercury Diesel pow er package.
M ercury Diesel is dedicated to providing superior product reliability and
custom er satisfaction. As part of our com m itm ent to superior custom er
satisfaction w e have determ ined that your pow er package m ust be recalled
under the Federal Boat Safety Act so an update can be perform ed.
What is the condition?
Your pow er package m ust have the turbocharger oil supply line updated. A
loose connection on the oil supply line to the turbocharger m ay allow
engine oil to com e in contact w ith hot engine com ponents. This m ay cause
an odor, sm oke, and possibly a fire.
What will M ercury Marine do?
We have provided instructions to our dealers on the upgrade to be
perform ed to these engines. This update w ill be perform ed at no charge to
you.
What should you do?
Contact your M ercury Diesel dealer to arrange a service appointm ent. When
scheduling your service appointm ent, m ention M ercury Diesel Service
Bulletin 2014-68.
Please present this notice to your M ercury Diesel dealer when you bring
your vessel in for servicing.
