6:3 Explanation of the table of electrical audio input level
(Table H, headsets only)
1. Model designation.
2. External Input Mode (see 3:8) mode 1–3, 0=product
switched off.
3. External Input Volume (see 3:9) N=Normal, H=High
0=product switched off.
4. Input signal level U (mV, RMS).
5. Mean sound pressure level dB(A).
6. Sound pressure standard deviation, (dB)
7. Input signal level for which the mean plus one standard
deviation equals 82 dB(A).
The failsafe mode, where input signals can also be heard in
off mode, is available only on *-50 models.
6:4 Explanation of the table of criterion levels (Table I)
The criterion level is the sound pressure level in dB(A) of the
noise environment resulting in 85 dB(A) effective to the ear
while wearing the hearing protectors. Three different criterion
levels are defined related to the frequency content of the
noise.
1. Model designation.
H = criterion level for high-frequency noise.
M = criterion level for medium-frequency noise.
L = criterion level for low-frequency noise.
