Layout of the HP Stream Laptop
The start screen is comprised of tiles. The tiles show updates and app notifications without even
opening the app. The tiles are personalized based on the login of each person.
The Settings Charm
Use the Setting charm to make quick adjustments to a few common settings like brightness, volume, or
network connection.
To adjust network connection:
1. Swipe in from the right edge of the Touchpad
2. Click on Settings
Or
1. Press the Windows logo key
2. Click on Settings
3. Click on the network connection icon
4. Select your Wi-Fi
5. Click Connect
6. If needed, the network security key code needs to be entered in order to connect.
To adjust speaker volume:
1. Swipe in from the right edge of the Touchpad
2. Click on Settings
Or
1. Press the Windows logo key
2. Click on Settings
3. Click on the speaker icon
4. Adjust the volume by using the arrow keys on the keyboard or left-click with the mouse and
drag your finger across the touchpad.
To adjust display screen brightness
1. Swipe in from the right edge of the Touchpad
2. Click on Settings
Or
1. Press the Windows logo key
2. Click on Settings
3. Click on the Brightness icon
