Parking Brake
Depress parking brake pedal.
When the steering lock key is in
position " 2" , the brake warning
lamp in the instrument cluster
comes on.
To release, pull release button
on the instrument panel. The
parking brake releases in one rapid
movement. The parking brake
warning lamp in the instrument
cluster must go out.

Starting and Turning off the Engine
Engage parking brake or service
brake before starting the engine.
Place the gear selector lever in
either " N" or " P" position before
starting the engine.
With the engine cold, depress accel
erator halfway and turn idle speed
adjuster counterclockwise to the stop.
Then release accelerator.

Turn key in steering lock to posi
tion " 2" . Charge indicator and pre
glowing indicator lamp must
come on.
The preglowing process then be
gins. The engine can be started as
soon as the preglowing indicator
lamp has gone out. Since the glow
plugs continue glowing for up to
1 minute, the engine can be
restarted during this period without
preglowing again.
