CHAPTER 8 PARAMETER MENUS

Introduction

This chapter describes the programmable parameters, provides bar codes for programming, and hexadecimal
equivalents for host parameter programming through SSI.

Operational Parameters

The SE955 is shipped with the factory default settings shown in
values are stored in non-volatile memory and are preserved even when the scan engine is powered down.
Changes to the factory default values can be stored as custom defaults. These values are also stored in
non-volatile memory and are preserved even when the scan engine is powered down.
To change the parameter values:
Scan the appropriate bar codes included in this chapter. The new values replace the existing memory
values. To set the new values as custom defaults, scan the Write to Custom Defaults bar code. The
factory default or custom default parameter values can be recalled by scanning the Set Factory
Defaults bar code or the Restore Defaults bar code on

Send the parameter through the scan engine's serial port using the SSI command PARAM_SEND.
Hexadecimal parameter numbers are shown in this chapter below the parameter title, and options
appear in parenthesis beneath the accompanying bar codes. Instructions for changing parameters using
this method are found in
Chapter 10, Simple Serial
