the XDLC continues to monitor its associated devices, and if any alarm device
activates, the XDLC will activate the outputs selected for "degrade" mode of operation.
Similarly, it will also signal other modules within its backplane as to the degrade alarm
condition. Note that output activation in degrade may take up to 60 seconds and that
outputs controlling releasing agents are not activated by "degrade" operation.
The "Degrade" mode operation is not the same as "Degraded Mode" as in ULC-
S527.
The front panel of the XDLC contains one reset switch, 16 LEDs, and three HNET
address switches, as shown in Figure 1. A reset switch is located on the top of the
front panel. Pushing the reset switch re-initializes the XDLC operation.
The LEDs follow the reset switch and their functions are defined as follows:
POWER
CARD FAIL
HNET
GND FAULT
ALARM
TROUBLE
OPEN
SHORT
LINE LEDS 1-8
(Green)
Normally ON. When illuminated, indi-
cates the power for the XDLC is applied
to the card. Blinks during firmware
download or if download has failed.
(Yellow)
Normally OFF . When illuminated, indi-
cates the card microprocessor has failed.
(Yellow)
Normally OFF . When illuminated, indi-
cates that the HNET communication with
the XDLC has terminated and the card
goes into degrade mode on HNET
failure.
(Yellow)
Normally OFF . When illuminated, indi-
cates that the XDLC has detected either
a negative or positive ground fault on its
field wiring. Blinks during firmware
download.
(Red)
Normally OFF . When illuminated, indicates
that the XDLC has detected an alarm.
(Yellow)
Normally OFF . When illuminated, indi-
cates that the XDLC has detected a
trouble on its field wiring; or incapability
between firmware in either the PMI,
XDLC, or both.
Normally OFF . When illuminated, indi-
cates that the XDLC has detected an
open on its field wiring.
Normally OFF . When illuminated, indi-
cates that the XDLC has detected a
short on its field wiring.
Normally Off. When illuminated, indi-
cates a trouble (open or short) on the
associated line or loop.
