Before using this appliance for the fi rst
time
Clean the slicer before using it for the fi rst
time, or after a long period of non-use.
Applications
The slicer is designed for use with bread,
cooked meats, ham, cheese, cold roasts and
other food suitable for slicing.
Serrated blade
The serrated blade is useful for slicing bread.
Ham-cutting blade
The ham-cutting blade is helpful when slicing
ham, cheese etc.
Changing the blades
Caution: Always disconnect the appliance
from the mains before changing the blades.
To detach the blade, turn the central locking
screw of the blade 90° in a clockwise
direction and take it off. After re-fi tting the
blade, turn the locking screw 90° anti-
clockwise to lock it.
Operation
Short-term operation
The appliance has been designed for short-
term operation only, i.e. the slicer should not
be operated continuously for more than 10
minutes. Switch it off afterwards and allow
the motor to cool down before switching on
again
Positioning the slicer
∙ Position the slicer on a fl at, stable
surface.
∙ Before the appliance is connected to the
mains, ensure that the On/Off switch is in
10
the Off-position.
Slicing
∙ Use the thickness selection knob to adjust
the desired thickness of the slices.
∙ Place the food to be sliced onto the
sliding tray and press it against the stop
plate.
∙ Fit the safety holder, with the studded side
facing the blade, onto the sliding tray.
∙ Switch the appliance on and move the
sliding tray towards the rotating blade. At
the same time, lightly press the end-piece
holder with the food towards the blade.
∙ The end-piece holder ensures safe
handling of the food while slicing.
∙ When removing the sliced food, keep
fi ngers and hands well away from the
blade, which is extremely sharp.
∙ Always switch the slicer off after use.
∙ For safety reasons, always bring the stop
plate back to its rest position after use so
that it is fl ush with the blade.
Practical hints
∙ When cutting a loaf of bread where the
crust is thicker or harder on one side, it
should be placed against the blade in
such a way that the fi rm side faces the
blade.
∙ When cutting ham, ensure that the fatty
side is facing upwards.
Cleaning and care
General
∙ To prevent perishable food particles from
collecting in the slicer, clean it thoroughly
after use.
∙ Always remove the plug from the wall
socket before cleaning the slicer.
