Powering Your Radio Your new RadioShack radio can be powered by four sources: 3 AAA batteries (not included), the built-in rechargeable battery, the built-in solar panel, and a USB power adapter (not included). Install Alkaline Batteries Open the compartment cover of on the back of the radio and insert 3 AAA batteries (not included) matching the polarity symbols (+ and -) inside the battery compartment.
Charging the Internal Battery You can charge the internal battery using the hand crank, built-in solar panel, or micro USB port (USB IN). The internal battery is not user-replaceable. Do not attempt to replace the internal battery. IMPORTANT! Read all safety precautions at the end of this User’s Guide before using the built-in Li-ion battery.
Charging Using a USB Power Source • Connect the USB charging cable to a USB power source and to the micro USB input (USB IN) on the side of the radio. • The internal battery will charge fully in approximately 8 hours.
Using the LED Flashlight To turn on the LED flashlight, slide the switch on the top of your radio to LIGHT (middle position of the switch). Using the USB Charging Port Your new RadioShack radio can also be used to charge other USB-powered devices (including smartphones).
