Chapter 1 — Introduction 1.1 FEATURES The ScanDome joystick controller is designed to control up to 64 ScanDome cameras (it is expandable up to 255 dome cameras when in simplex control mode). Rollover key functions make it capable of controlling a variety of external switching devices such as Multiplexers and/or Digital Video Recorders.

2.2 TERMINATION & DIP SWITCH SETTINGS The first and last devices in an installation (dome and joystick controller) must have the data line terminated by setting the DIP switch. Without proper termination, there may be control signal errors. Total length of the cable for communication should not exceed 1.2Km Refer to Figure 7 for setting the dome camera and joystick controller termination.

Unless you have changed the passwords, the factory default for the administrator’s password is 9999+Enter and 1111+Enter for the user-level password. If you forget your own password, contact service personnel or distributor. Press and then consecutively. (9999+Enter) The joystick controller will display the following screen and be ready to control dome cameras. Press key will get you back to system mode (dome control) from DVR control mode.
When you need to control the DVR, press key. The LCD screen will be shown following DVR mode. LCD display in DVR mode 1 Cam : 0001E 09 : 34 : 04 DVR - 0001 COPY RELAY SELECT SEQ SET . Press key to go back to the system mode from the DVR control mode.

3.3.3 Key description of the controller Function Key Buttons Description Camera ID selection with Cam key. Numeric Function number selection with function keys.
