IP settings
To set up the switch, get the following information from your network administrator:
• Switch IP address
• Subnet mask—IP netmask
• Default gateway—router
• Enable secret password
• Enable password
• Telnet password

Navigating CLI modes

The Dell OS prompt changes to indicate the CLI mode.
You move linearly through the command modes, except for the end command which takes
you directly to EXEC Privilege mode. The exit command moves you up one command
mode level.

Console access

The RS-232 console port is on the right-hand side of the S4048T–ON system as you face
the PSU side of the chassis, as shown.
