5.2 Installing scale up Storage Nodes

Base system Storage Nodes and scale up Storage Nodes are installed in the same way. Scale up kits are
installed bottom to top, as shown.

5.2.1 Cabling a scaled up system

Once the Storage Nodes are added to the ActiveScale P100 system, the only other hardware-based step is
to connect the data cables.
The 10G DAC cables included in the scale up kit have both blue and green labels. The label colors indicate
the location of the associated Storage Node and System Interconnect port.

5.3 Software steps for a scale up addition

Scaling up allows you to expand the capacity of your system by adding a new column (in other words, a
scale up kit) to each system in your deployment. Each system must have identical scale up and scale out
configurations. Follow this procedure after you have completed the hardware steps for a single scale up kit.
