2. (1U mounting kit only, skip for 3U mounting kits) Re-extend the rails on the rack using the levers
on the inside of the rails.
3. Align the System Node to the rails attached to the rack.
4. Push the System Node into the rack until it stops. If the System Node uses a 1U mounting kit, tThe
System Node will stop before it is fully seated in the rack.
5. (1U mounting kit only, skip for 3U mounting kits) On the sides of the rail, pull the blue tabs to
allow the inner rail to slide all the way in.
6. With the System Node inserted fully into the rack, tighten the thumbscrews on the front of the System
Node.
7. Replace the drives. For more information, refer to
8. Reconnect all of the cables in the order you removed them.
9. Power on the new System Node.

3.2 System Interconnect part replacement instructions

The following sections provide instructions for servicing System Interconnect components.

3.2.1 Replacing System Interconnect fans

Tip: Replacing the fans might require the use of a ladder or flashlight. This is
because System Interconnects are biased towards the rear of the rack, but are
only accessible from the front. This means that you might have difficulty locating
the fans in a standard configuration.
