What Happens When the Computer Starts?
This is what happens when you turn on the computer (system unit and
display):
1. You see a KB OK message on the screen.
2. You hear one beep.
The computer memory size is
being tested. The number
increases until it matches the
amount of memory installed.
The computer has successfully
completed its internal self-tests.
3. You see one of these on the screen:
• Diskette and F1 Prompts
• Password Prompt
• The beginning of your program.
If anything other than the above happen$, there is a problem. To fix
the problem, see "Solving Computer Problems" on page 41.
