a n d t h e 8 5 m m t h r u s t s h i m (C) f r o m t h e
t r a n s m i s s i o n h o u s i n g (D) b y h e a t i n g t h e
t r a n s m i s s i o n h o u s i n g t o a b o u t 2 1 2 °F ( 1 0 0 °C) u s i n g
a h e a t g u n (E). D o n o t h e a t t h e t r a n s m i s s i o n
h o u s i n g m o r e t h a n 2 1 2 °F ( 1 0 0 °C).
N O T E : L e t t h e t r a n s m i s s i o n h o u s i n g c o o l t o r o o m
t e m p e r a t u r e b e f o r e a d j u s t i n g t h e b e a r i n g p r e l o a d .
2 . I n s t a l l t h e 8 5 m m t h r u s t s h i m ( A ) i n t h e
t r a n s m i s s i o n h o u s i n g ( B ) . If y o u r e p l a c e t h e 8 5 m m
t h r u s t s h i m w i t h a n e w o n e , u s e t h e s a m e t h i c k n e s s
s h i m a s t h e o l d o n e .
3. I n s t a l l t h e s p a c e r (C) a n d t h e b e a r i n g o u t e r r a c e (D)
i n t h e t r a n s m i s s i o n h o u s i n g .
4. D r i v e t h e o u t e r r a c e s e c u r e l y i n t h e h o u s i n g u s i n g
t h e d r i v e r a n d t h e 8 3 m m a t t a c h m e n t s o t h e r e i s n o
c l e a r a n c e b e t w e e n t h e o u t e r r a c e , t h e s p a c e r , t h e
s h i m , a n d t h e t r a n s m i s s i o n h o u s i n g .
