    These settings are wood, tile, vinyl and carpet. Squeeze/release trigger to dispense detergent. To use on carpet or to use your unit WITHOUT detergent, select ‘Carpet.’ WARNING: Only use recommended Vax Steam Detergent. NOTE: The detergent can be used on hard floor surfaces. Check and change filter (depending on level of use). Do not operate unit without hard water filter in place.

Allow unit to fully cool down before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks. There is a small opening on the back of the unit at the bottom of the grey trim.
