Diagnostics functions in the S5 program of the master

The STEP 5 program of the IM 328–B master can request and evaluate the
following diagnostics messages via the IM 328–N slave:
Diagnostics type
Diagnostics "Overview"
Diagnostics "Parameter as-
signment and addressability"
Station status
Device–related diagnostics
(stations diagnostics)
Identifier–related diagnostics
(module diagnostics)
n: Station number
Diagnostics "Overview" and "Parameter assignment and addressability"
are described in
Reference:
because they can be used on all slave stations.
The diagnostics function must first be enabled in the ET 200 SYSTEM PA-
RAMETER screen form (Y) and a diagnostics address must be specified (de-
fault diagnostics address: 252).
Diagnostics:
The diagnostics address is the address of the diagnostics word. The diagno-
stics data area of the master can be accessed with the diagnostics word. If an
error occurs, the slave stations send the diagnostics data to the master.
The two diagnostics bytes of the diagnostics word will be referred to as
DIAGNOSTICS ADDRESS (default: I/O byte 252) and DIAGNOSTICS
ADDRESS +1 (default: I/O byte 253).
By combining different diagnostics, appropriate conclusions can be drawn
such as, for example, station with fault and can be contacted.
Immediately after diagnostics is called in the STEP 5 program, the
diagnostics data are accessed and the diagnostics message is given in the
diagnostics word.
