OPERATION AS A MODEM
Your VMG8825 supports operation as a pure ADSL/VDSL modem. If you want this
mode, please observe the following notes on activating the modem mode.

You only need the modem mode when you want to operate a downstream router
or a firewall that does not have a suitable internal modem.
Please note: In modem mode, several functions such as telephony, USB and Wi-Fi
are no longer available.

NOTE
If you have customized any settings on your VMG8825, please save the custom
configuration via the user interface before resetting the device. You can then re-
load the configuration into the device later.
Switching at power on by pressing a button
Hold down the WPS and WLAN button for at least 10 seconds when switching on
the device.
Switching via the user interface
If you have already started the VMG8825 with the factory default settings, you
can switch to modem mode via the user interface:
To do this, enter the address
menu System/Operating mode. Follow the instructions on the page to activate
the switch.
