Initial Router Configuration
This section is only applicable if you either purchased a preconfigured P332G-ML,
or purchased a Routing License Key Certificate and activated the License Key.
If you purchased a preconfigured switch, go to step 3.
1.
To request a License Key, go to: http//license-lsg.avaya.com.
2.
To activate the License Key, type set license <module number> <license key>
routing where <module number> is the location of the switch in the stack and <license
key> is the number you obtained from the above Web site and press Enter

Type set device-mode router and press Enter.
You will be prompted to reset the module.
4.
Type y.
Wait for the module to restart and for the CLI prompt to reappear.
5.
Type show device-mode and press Enter to ensure that the module is in router mode.
Assign the stack IP address as described in "Assigning the Stack IP Address" before you
assign the Initial Router IP Address.
6.
Type session <module number> router where <module number> is the location of
the P332G-ML in the stack and press Enter.
The Router-N# prompt appears.
N is the number of the router in the stack.
7.
Type configure and press Enter.
The Router-N (configure)# prompt appears.
If the IP interface is not on VLAN 1 then continue to step 8, otherwise skip to
step 10.
8.
Create the management/routing VLAN by typing
set vlan <Vlan-ID> name <Vlan-name>, replacing <VLAN-ID> by the VLAN
number; and <Vlan-name> by the VLAN name and press Enter.
9.
Create an IP interface name by typing interface <interface name> and pressing
Enter.
The Router (configure-if:<interface-name>)# prompt appears
10. Assign the IP address and network mask of the IP interface you have created by typing
ip address <ip-address> <netmask> and pressing Enter.
11. Assign the VLAN created in step 9 to the IP interface by typing ip vlan <Vlan-id> or
ip vlan name <Vlan-name> and pressing Enter.
12. Type exit and press Enter.
This returns you to the Router (configure)# prompt
If the management station is not on the same subnet as the switch proceed to step 13,
otherwise skip to step 14.
13. Configure a default gateway (static route) by typing
ip default-gateway <ip-address> and pressing Enter, replacing <ip address> with
the IP address of the default gateway.
14. Save the configuration changes by typing copy running-config startup-config
and pressing Enter.
Once you have assigned an IP address/interface to the Avaya P332G-ML, you can either
configure it using the Avaya P330 Manager or continue using the CLI.
