Equipment Description FIRING RATE, BTU/HR Blodgett 40GS-KLS steam kettles are stainless steel, floor mounted kettles with a self- MODEL Ignition Natural Propane contained steam source heated by gas. A closed steam jacket covers the lower 2/3 of the kettle. Inspection & Unpacking WARNING The unit arrives completely assembled, except for the TDO valve, flue stack and flue THIS UNIT MUST BE INSTALLED BY elbow which are usually packed separately and shipped inside the kettle.. Installation The unit should be installed in a ventilated room for efficient performance. items WARNING which may obstruct or restrict the flow of air for combustion and ventilation must be THIS UNIT MUST BE INSTALLED BY removed. Initial Start-Up Now that the kettle has been installed, you should test it to ensure that it is operating correctly. Remove literature and packing materials from inside and outside of the unit. Install the TDO valve handle. Put a small amount of water into the kettle. Verify that kettle water level is normal and that kettle is holding vacuum in jacket. -

Sequence of Operation The following “action-reaction” outline is provided to help understand how the kettle works. When the power switch is turned on, it starts the spark igniter and opens the automatic valve for the pilot burner. The spark ignites a pilot flame, which heats the sensor. -
