    Equipment Description FIRING RATE, BTU/HR Blodgett 40GS-KLS steam kettles are stainless steel, floor mounted kettles with a self- MODEL Ignition Natural Propane contained steam source heated by gas. A closed steam jacket covers the lower 2/3 of the kettle. Heat from the gas burner boils water in the jacket to produce steam under pressure.

    Initial Start-Up Now that the kettle has been installed, you should test it to ensure that it is operating correctly. Remove literature and packing materials from inside and outside of the unit. Install the TDO valve handle. Put a small amount of water into the kettle. Verify that kettle water level is normal and that kettle is holding vacuum in jacket.

    Sequence of Operation The following “action-reaction” outline is provided to help understand how the kettle works. When the power switch is turned on, it starts the spark igniter and opens the automatic valve for the pilot burner. The spark ignites a pilot flame, which heats the sensor.
