Set up and installation

Unpacking
1. Should the packaging be damaged upon receipt, each part of the hoist must be examined for
visible defects. In the event of any damage, please contact Invacare
2. Carefully take out and identify all the parts in the box.
3. The box contains the following parts:
• 1 hoist
• 1 user's manual
• 1 battery
To prevent self-discharging of the battery or accidental operation of the hoist, the emergency stop
is activated during shipping. Please remember to deactivate the emergency stop and charge the
battery prior to first use.
Assembling the hoist
The hoist in the Invacare
spanner and a 3/16" Allen key.
1.
Put the base on a level surface so that all castors make
contact with the floor.
2.
Lock the rear castors.
3.
Loosen the bottom knob, but leave it screwed into the base.
4.
Unscrew the top knob and remove it from the base.
5.
Connect the mast assembly cable (not shown) to the
base cable (not shown).
6.
Pull the tube of the mast out of the hole in the base.
7.
While supporting the mast assembly, tighten the bottom plastic
knob.
8.
Screw the top plastic knob into the hole in the base.
9.
Using a 1/2" spanner and a 3/16" Allen key, mount the spreader
bar to the moving part of the mast. Do not over-tighten the fixing nut.
Dismantling the hoist
The hoists are easy to assemble without the use of tools.
1.
Put the base on a level surface so that all castors make
contact with the floor.
2.
Lock the rear castors.
3.
Loosen the bottom knob, but leave it screwed into the base.
4.
Unscrew the top knob and remove it from the base.
5.
Pull the tube of the mast out of the hole in the base.
6.
Disconnect the mast assembly cable (not shown) to the base cable (not shown).
The plastic bushing in the base that surrounds the mast must not be removed as this
will cause instability of the mast. Activate the emergency stop before assembly or
disassembly to prevent entrapment/squeezing. There is a possible risk of squeezing of
both limbs and wires during assembly and disassembly of the hoist. Take the utmost
care when lifting components during assembly - some parts are heavy. Always
remember to adopt the correct lifting position.
Make sure there is an audible click when mounting the battery onto the (optional)
battery charger to confirm proper mounting. Otherwise, injury or damage may occur.
