  • Page 4 How to Use: NOTE: Be sure probe tip is clean before using. 1. Disinfect the probe with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol before using. 2. Press and release the multifunction button. You will hear a Figure 1 short beep then all segments will display (Figure 1) for 1 second with red backlight for 0.5 seconds and then green backlight for 0.5 seconds.

    Axillary Use: Wipe armpit with a dry towel. Place the probe in the patient's arm (Figure 4) and keep the patient's arm pressed firmly against the body. The time required for an accurate underarm temperature may be 12 seconds or longer depending on placement of the probe and closure of the arm against the body.
