  • Page 13 Overview Antenna Connector (Optional) This connector allows you to connect an external antenna for wireless LAN. Users may find one antenna connector on the bottom I/O panel and two on the left and right sides of the system. USB 2.0 Port The USB (Universal Serial Bus) port is for attaching USB devices such as key- board, mouse, or other USB-compatible devices.
  • Page 14 MS-9A65 DVI-I Port The DVI-I (Digital Visual Interface-Integrated) connector allows you to connect an LCD monitor. It provides a high-speed digital interconnection between the computer and its display device. To connect an LCD monitor, simply plug your monitor cable into the DVI connector, and make sure that the other end of the cable is properly connected to your monitor (refer to your monitor manual for more information.)

    Getting Started Installation Tools A Phillips (crosshead) screwdriver and a flathead screw- driver, can be used to do most of the installation. Choose one with a magnetic head would be better. Pliers, can be used as an auxiliary tool to connect some con- nectors or cables.

    MS-9A65 System Setup Step 1: Locate the VESA mount screw holes on the back of the LCD monitor. Step 2: Fasten the VESA mount plate to the monitor with the supplied screws.
  • Page 21 Getting Started Step 3: Mount the system onto the VESA mount plate. Step 4: Tighten the thumbscrew at the bottom of the VESA mount plate to secure the system.
  • Page 22 MS-9A65 Step 5: Locate the wireless LAN antenna connector and install the antenna. Step 6: Locate the signal cable of the monitor and connect one end of the cable to the DVI port of the system. You may need to get an adapter if the sup- plied signal cable isn’t DVI-interfaced.
  • Page 23 Getting Started Step 8: Assemble the system power adapter and the power cord. Connect the power adapter to the system and then connect the power cord to the power source. Important We suggest that you connect the power adapter to your system first and then connect the power cord to the socket-outlet for safety concerns.

    BIOS Setup This chapter provides information on the BIOS Setup program and allows users to configure the system for optimal use. Users may need to run the Setup program when: ■ An error message appears on the screen at system startup and requests users to run SETUP.

    BIOS Setup Entering Setup Power on the computer and the system will start POST (Power On Self Test) process. When the message below appears on the screen, press <DEL> or <F2> key to enter Setup. Press <DEL> or <F2> to enter SETUP If the message disappears before you respond and you still wish to enter Setup, restart the system by turning it OFF and On or pressing the RESET button.

When set to higher values, every PCI device can conduct trans- actions for a longer time and thus improve the effective PCI bandwidth. For better PCI performance, you should set the item to higher values.
