Chapter 4. Moving Your IBM 3270
PC to a New Location
This chapter explains how to prepare your 3270
PC units before you move them a short distance
to a new location, ship them a long distance, or
return them to a service center for repair.
Getting Started
If you are moving your whole work station,
go to the section, "Preparing Your System
Unit or Expansion Unit" on page 4-2 and
read all the remaining sections in this step.
If you are shipping only one of your units
(the system unit or display, for example), go
to the section that describes how to prepare
or remove that unit and then read the last
section, "Final Steps" on page 4-14.
If you are just removing a unit, go to sections
"Removing Your Keyboard" on page 4-7, and
"Removing Your Display" on page 4-9, or
"Removing Your Printer" on page 4-13 as
needed.
Note:
If you have to ship one or all of your work
station components, you should ship them
in their original cartons. If the original
cartons are not available, contact your
supervisor or the person who handles
computer problems to order replacement
cartons.
