8 Malfunctions

Depending on the operating conditions, check the handwheel at certain intervals to prevent
possible failure before it can occur. Operators are responsible for drawing up a test plan.

SAMSON's After-sales Service department can support you to draw up an inspection plan
for your plant.
Troubleshooting
Malfunction
Actuator or plug stem/threaded
rod does not move on demand.
The handwheel cannot be
turned.
The locking bolt cannot be un-
locked.
Note
Contact SAMSON's After-sales Service department for malfunctions not listed in the table.

Possible reasons
Actuator is blocked.
Insufficient signal pressure
The handwheel is still locked.
The valve plug is already in the
end position.
The bolt is worn.
Malfunctions
Recommended action
Check attachment.
Unblock the actuator.
Check the signal pressure.
Check the signal pressure line for
leakage.
Unlock the handwheel (see sec-
tion 6.2).
Lubricate the locking bolt.
If the locking bolt remains
blocked, contact SAMSON's
After-sales Service department.
