chain assures

Place the motorcycle
on
the main
stand
'
Move the chain
up
and
down
at th
e
mi dpoint
between the
sprockets and
measure
tota
l
movement.
St andard
slack shou
ld
be
0.4-0.8 in. (10-20mm)
.

To adjust
ch ain
slack, first
loosen
the
rear
axle nut

(refer
to page
42).

the

both

right
and
left cha
in
adjusters and
turn

e
adjusti

5.
Make
sure

the
rear
axle
nut and
lock
nuts
are
properly ti
ghtened.
6.
Readjust
th
e rear
br
ake
as necessary
to correct
for
the repositioning
o
f
the
rear
wheel
assembly.

to

age
50).
7. Remove
the
main sta
nd
and
check
slack
whi le sitting on
th
e
machine.
Roll
either
forward
or
backward
enough
to
ascertain
there
are no tight spots.
