Check f or smooth rotation o f the thro ttl e
grip from th e full y op en to the fully c lose
posit ion s. Check when at f ul l left and
full ri ght steering positi o ns. Inspect the
co nditio n o f th e throttl e cabl e from th e
1hro1t le grip to the carbur etor. If th e
cab le is kink ed, chaffed or impro p erly
ro uted, it sh oul d be r ep laced and/ or
rero uted. Recheck cab les for tensio n or
str ess at b oth full left and ful l r ight
steeri ng p ositions.
Thrott le Grip Play
Stan da r d thro tt le grip free p la y is approxi-
mately 10- 15°. Th is free pl ay can b e
all ained by adjustment o f the grip p lay
ad juster

I. Set the idle sp eed at 1,200 rpm with the
thr ottle stop screw

standard air scr ew setti ng is between

3. Readjus t the thrott le stop scr ew if it
is necessary to r eset the idle speed.
NOTE : Engine ma lfun cti on during high
sp eed can be cause d by either a defec-
ti ve ignition or valve system therefore,
determin e the cause of the trouble b efore
attempting to correc t the condition by
th e adjusting screw.
