  • Page 2 DESCRIPTION Our Telephone Line Monitor (TLM) device is designed to activate whenever the Telephone Line that it is connected to has been disconnected or cut. The incoming Telephone Line MUST connect to the LINE IN port of TLM. All telephones and telephone devices MUST connect to the LINE OUT port of TLM.
  • Page 3 DESCRIPTION Continued TELEPHONE LINE CONNECTION Single Telephone Socket Operation TLM can be connected to ANY Telephone Socket on the Telephone Line. If another Telephone Device is to be used on the same Telephone Socket, then it can be connected using a Double Telephone Adaptor (not supplied) to the LINE OUTPUT Port of TLM.

    2. Accessory Device Connection (Light, Loud Siren or other device) If you are connecting a NATCOMM Accessory, refer to pages 5-11. If you are connecting a THIRD PARTY ELECTRICAL Accessory, refer to pages 12 - 15.
  • Page 5 NATCOMM ACCESSORIES 1) Mini Strobe Light (blue) The Siren accessory connects to the Relay Output port of TLM via the ‘Connection Box’ and short cable supplied with this accessory. A 10 metre cable is supplied with this accessory that can be shortened or lengthened as necessary (polarity is important please see bold section below).

    SIREN INSTALLATION A white connection box is supplied to allow for easy user connection of this accessory. The box has two leads connecting from it : STEP 1. The short Cream coloured telephone cable with the RJ plug should be plugged into the Relay Output port of TLM. STEP 2.

    POWER CONTROL UNIT AS/NZS3260 Approval Number Q00217 Our POWER CONTROL UNIT (PCU-2) accessory will allow you to use a 120VAC to 240VAC Electrical Device ( such as a Light, Horn or a Loud Siren) to INDICATE when your telephone line is Cut or Disconnected. It is designed for quick and easy USER INSTALLATION.

  • Page 13 UNPOWERED 3RD PARTY DEVICE CONNECTION The relay output from TLM can also be used to advise an external 3rd party electrical device that the telephone line has been cut or disconnected. The relay output from TLM is Dry Contact (Rated at 1A at 12V). TLM’s relay contacts connect to the centre 2 pins of the 4P4C RJ socket of TLM.

  • Page 15 POWERED 3RD PARTY DEVICE CONNECTION The relay output from TLM can also be used to advise an external 3rd party electrical device that the telephone line has been cut or disconnected. The relay output from TLM is Dry Contact (Rated at 1A at 12V). You can connect a power source AC or DC up to 12V and 1Amp to the relay contacts if required.
