Thepressureofthethermalprintheadagainsttheribbonor
directthermalmediaisfactoryadjusted.However,theuseof
thickerorthinnermediathannormalcouldrequiretheprinthead
pressuretobereadjusted.
Turntheadjustmentknobclockwiseforincreasedpressure,or
counterclockwiseforlesspressure.Printafewlabels,preferably
testlabels,andchecktheprintout.Forhelpprintingtestlabels,
see"SettingUpthePrinter"onpage53.Increasedpressure
generallygivesadarkerprintoutandviceversa.Repeatuntilthe
desiredresultisobtained.
Tofindthebasicsetting,turntheknobcounterclockwiseuntil
thereisnopressureleft.Testwithapieceofmediaunderthe
printhead.Youshouldbeabletopullitoutwithoutmorethan
justalittleresistance.Thenturntheknobfourfullturns
clockwise.Fine-adjustusingthetrial-and-errormethod.
Donotuseahigherprintheadpressurethannecessary.
Unnecessarypressuremayincreasethewearoftheprinthead
andshortenitslife.
