MORLEY-IAS
16.5 Hochiki Multi-Sensor Support
•
The Hochiki Multi-Sensor is supported as detailed below from panel software version 824 onwards.
Previously, from version 698, the multi-sensor was partially supported – operating as an optical smoke
device becoming more sensitive with temperatures above 40 °C.
•
Where the control panel is in normal operation or sensitivity day mode is invoked, the multi-sensor
mode and threshold parameters can be modified according to the specific site requirements. This
allows a different mode of operation at different times of the day (see Section 11.3 Sensitivity Mode).
For each multi-sensor address, in the edit device menu, choose to 'edit thresholds'. Firstly, the mode
of operation will be presented. Select 0 for multi-mode, 1 for optical-smoke only mode or 2 for heat
only mode. Normal threshold set-up will follow. These settings will take effect on a device by device
basis throughout the day mode period (where sensitivity mode is programmed).
•
Where night mode is invoked (as part of sensitivity day mode), the device operates in the multi-sensor
mode providing the control panel with an analogue value representing a combination of the smoke
and heat elements of the sensor. The pre-alarm threshold is fixed at 45 and the full-alarm threshold at
55.
